Clinical research study conducted for patients with IC/PBS

A clinical research study is being conducted for patients with Interstitial Cystitis/Painful Bladder Syndrome (IC/PBS), a chronic bladder disorder characterized by intense pelvic pain, urinary frequency-urgency, and pain during sexual intimacy (www.PainfulBladderStudy.org). It is estimated that as many as 1.3 million people in the U.S. have been diagnosed with this disease and many more remain undiagnosed.

Pfizer and Auxilium Pharmaceuticals announce completion of European MAA validation phase for XIAFLEX

Pfizer Inc. and Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that Pfizer received notification from the European Medicines Agency that the Marketing Authorization Application (MAA) for XIAFLEX™ (collagenase clostridium histolyticum), a novel, first-in-class, biologic for the treatment of Dupuytren’s contracture (a condition resulting in the contracture of the fingers into the palm), has completed the validation phase successfully. As a result, the scientific/technical review procedure commenced on 21 January 2010.

Most Canadians hope OAB symptoms will go away

A recent poll conducted by Leger Marketing, on behalf of the Powder Room - a national education program for those with overactive bladder (OAB) - asked 1,500 Canadians about their bladder health. The findings revealed that although people are experiencing OAB symptoms, most are choosing not to seek medical attention - perhaps assuming the frustrating and embarrassing symptoms will go away, or that they will just have to live with them.

Warner Chilcott plc today announced its results for the quarter ended September 30, 2009. Revenue in the quarter ended September 30, 2009 increased 9.0% to $252.8 million over the prior year quarter. The primary drivers of the increase in revenue in the quarter were the net sales of LOESTRIN 24 FE and ESTRACE Cream which were partially offset by net sales declines of other products, primarily TACLONEX.
