Interleukin Genetics commences two new PST test clinical studies in China

Interleukin Genetics, Inc. announced today that the Company has initiated two clinical studies to demonstrate the utility of its new PST genetic test in the ethnic Chinese population. The programs are being conducted in collaboration with Professor Chi-Cheng Tsai of Kaohsiung Medical University and Professor Dong Chen at Shanghai Stomatological Disease Center.

JDR publishes 'MicroRNA Modulation in Obesity and Periodontitis' study

In a study titled "MicroRNA Modulation in Obesity and Periodontitis," lead author Romina Perri, University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, Oral Health Institute, conducted a pilot investigation to determine whether obesity or periodontal disease modified microRNA expression and whether there was any potential interaction between obesity and periodontitis that could involve microRNA modulation.

Simple dental algorithm can effectively identify patients with unrecognized diabetes

In a study, Identification of unrecognized diabetes and pre-diabetes in a dental setting, published in the July 2011 issue of the Journal of Dental Research, researchers at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine found that dental visits represented a chance to intervene in the diabetes epidemic by identifying individuals with diabetes or pre-diabetes who are unaware of their condition.
