OCLS' partnership with V&M Industries to market Microcyn-based skin and wound care products

Oculus Innovative Sciences, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets a family of products based upon the Microcyn Technology platform, which is intended to treat infections in chronic and acute wounds, announced today it has entered into a new strategic partnership with V&M Industries, Inc. for non-exclusive rights to market Microcyn-based skin and wound care over-the-counter products in the United States and Canada while providing Oculus with a significant percentage of those revenues.

New hydrogel mats extends anti-infection protection

Researchers study planaria's regeneration process

Amputations trigger a molecular response that determines if a head or tail will be regrown in planaria, a flatworm commonly studied for its regenerative capabilities. Until now, no molecular connection between wounding and the decision to regenerate either a head or tail in planaria had been identified.

Misonix, Inc. (Nasdaq: MSON), a developer of minimally invasive ultrasonic medical device technology, which in Europe is used for the ablation of tumors and worldwide for other acute health conditions, has announced that a patient, who wishes to remain anonymous, donated the majority of the funds necessary for Christus St. Vincent Medical Center, Santa Fe, NM, to purchase a SonicOne(R) Ultrasonic Wound Cleansing and Debridement System. The System was shipped and installed during the second half of August 2009.

NanoBio presents preclinical data of NB-201 for treating burn wounds at the 2009 ICAAC

NanoBio Corporation today announced compelling preclinical data for NB-201, a nanoemulsion-based topical lotion for the treatment of burn wounds. In preclinical studies, NB-201 dramatically reduced the severity of burn wound infections as well as inflammation following thermal injuries. The research was conducted at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor as a collaborative effort between the University and NanoBio.

First FOSAMAX case declared as mistrial by the U.S.District Court Judge

Merck & Co., Inc. said today that a mistrial was declared by U.S. District Court Judge John F. Keenan in Boles v. Merck, the first FOSAMAX case to go to trial. This case was the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee's first choice to take to trial. The Boles case was tried in New York federal court and involved a Florida woman who blamed her dental and jaw problems on FOSAMAX.

Restated 2008 and 2009 financial results released by The Center for Wound Healing

The Center for Wound Healing, Inc. (OTCBB:CFWH), a leading operator of comprehensive wound care treatment centers that offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as well as other advanced wound care treatment modalities, today announced that the Company’s consolidated financial statements for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 and for the year ended June 30, 2008 need to be restated as described below, and that investors should no longer rely upon those consolidated financial statements. The Company will file an amendment to the 2008 Form 10-QSB and 2008 Form 10-KSB to restate the 2008 Financial Statements as soon as practicable.
