Adventist Medical Center is now home to the newest model of the da Vinci surgical robot. The da Vinci robot enables complex surgeries to be completed using a minimally invasive approach. The approach minimizes the physical and emotional impact of surgery on patients resulting in increased quality outcomes. The Portland, Ore., based hospital is one of few hospitals in the Northwest to use the latest model of the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.

VHGI sells Secure eHealth to WNDM

VirtualHealth Technologies, Inc. announced today that it has completed the sale of secure data and messaging provider, Secure eHealth, LLC, along with certain other technology assets to Wound Management Technologies, Inc. as previously announced in the January 11 press release. In addition to the sale of Secure eHealth, VHGI has also transferred all of the intellectual property assets of the real-time prescription drug monitoring business conducted by its subsidiary, VPS Holdings, LLC to Wound Management.

Cellectricon resumes litigation against Fluxion Biosciences over alleged patent infringement

Cellectricon AB today announced that it has resumed its litigation against Fluxion Biosciences, Inc. Cellectricon filed the lawsuit in July 2009 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California alleging infringement of several United States patents issued or licensed to Cellectricon for microfluidic technology used in Cellectricon's state-of-the-art ion channel drug screening solution, the Dynaflow(R)HT System. Cellectricon's U.S. Patents Nos. 7,390,650, 7,470,518 and 7,563,614 have been asserted in the litigation, as well as U.S. Patent No. 5,376,252, which is owned by Gyros, and licensed to Cellectricon.

University of Pittsburgh awarded $3.5M NIH grant for WaferGen Biosystems's SmartChip Real-Time PCR System
