Atopic dermatitis is a long-term skin disease. "Atopic" refers to a tendency to develop allergy conditions. "Dermatitis" means swelling of the skin. Atopic dermatitis is most common in babies and children. But it can happen to anyone. People who live in cities and dry climates may be more likely to get this disease. When children with atopic dermatitis grow older, this problem can improve or go away. But the skin may stay dry and easy to irritate. At other times, atopic dermatitis is a problem in adulthood. You can't "catch" the disease or give it to other people.

Provectus commences PH-10 Phase 2c trial for psoriasis

Mothers exposure to farm animals and cats during pregnancy lowers risk of atopic dermatitis in children

Children whose mothers are exposed to farm animals and cats are better protected against atopic dermatitis and are less likely to develop this painful inflammation of the skin in their first two years of life. A group of researchers from the University of Zurich and other universities have published evidence supporting this theory in the Journal of Allergy & Clinical Immunology.

Provectus reports progress in PV-10 program for metastatic melanoma

The TGA is the part of the Australian Government's Department of Health and Ageing responsible for the assessment, approval and monitoring of therapeutic goods available in Australia. The initial meeting with the TGA was held in October 2008.
