Labopharm, Gruppo Angelini sign agreement to commercialize OLEPTRO in the U.S.

Labopharm Inc. and Gruppo Angelini today announced they have entered into an agreement to establish a joint venture in the United States for the commercialization of OLEPTRO, a novel once-daily formulation of the antidepressant trazodone approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on February 3, 2010.

Dow Jones reports on side effects of Labopharm's once-daily version of Trazodone, stock falls by 5%

After Canadian specialty pharmaceutical company Labopharm received FDA approval for its once-daily version of antidepressant Trazodone, Dow Jones Newswires reported that it will be difficult to convince prescribers to switch from less expensive generic versions. Dow Jones found that when compared, the side effects of Labopharm's drug fare no better than the generic versions that dominate the market.

Labopharm Inc. today announced that the underwriters for the recently announced public offering of newly issued units have exercised in full their over-allotment option to purchase an additional 1,764,706 units. The 1,764,706 additional units are being sold at the public offering price of US$1.70 per unit and will bring the total number of units issued under the public offering to 13,529,412 units.

Labopharm Inc. today announced the closing of its previously announced underwritten public offering of 11,764,706 units. The units were sold at a price of US$1.70 per unit for gross proceeds of US$20 million. Net proceeds were US$18,150,000 after deducting underwriting discounts and commissions, and estimated offering expenses.

Labopharm prices underwritten public offering of 11.7M units

Labopharm Inc. today announced that it has priced an underwritten public offering of 11,764,706 newly issued units at a public offering price of US$1.70 per unit. Each unit is comprised of one of the Company's common shares and a warrant to purchase 0.5 of a common share. Each whole warrant entitles the holder to acquire one common share of the Company upon payment of US$2.30 per share, exercisable at any time during the period beginning six months after the date of issuance and ending three years following the date of issuance.

FDA approves Labopharm's OLEPTRO antidepressant for MDD

Labopharm Inc. today announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved OLEPTRO(TM) (trazodone hydrochloride) Extended Release Tablets, a novel once-daily formulation of the antidepressant trazodone, for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults. Labopharm's trazodone API supplier Angelini resolves manufacturing facility deficiencies

Labopharm Inc. today announced that it has been informed by Angelini, the manufacturer of the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) for the Company's novel trazodone formulation, that it has received a letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stating that Angelini has appropriately addressed all deficiencies cited by the FDA following its inspection of the manufacturing facility in June and July of this year.
