ImmuneRegen BioSciences, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of IR BioSciences Holdings, Inc. today announced that treatment with its lead compound, Homspera, in combination with a DNA vaccine utilizing Scancell's ImmunoBody technology significantly improved the immune response of the vaccine in an animal model.

FDA clears Viking Systems' Next Generation 3DHD visualization system

Viking Systems, Inc. announced today that it has received clearance of its 510(k) application by the Food and Drug Administration related to its Next Generation 3DHD visualization system. The System is scheduled for market launch in Washington D.C. at this year's American College of Surgeons' Annual Clinical Congress which will be held from October 3-7.

International consortium publishes third-generation map of human genetic variation

An international consortium today published a third-generation map of human genetic variation, called the HapMap, which includes data from an additional seven global populations, increasing the total number to 11 populations. The improved resolution will help researchers interpret current genome studies aimed at finding common and rarer genetic variants associated with complex diseases.

Lilly's Evista method patents upheld through March of 2014

Eli Lilly and Company today announced that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has affirmed a prior ruling by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana that the company's method-of-use patents for Evista® (raloxifene HCl tablets) are valid. These patents provide protection for Evista in the U.S. through March of 2014.

InfraReDx, Inc., a medical device company developing intelligent cardiovascular diagnostic imaging technologies, today announced that it has received 510(k) clearance from the United States Food and Drug Administration to market the LipiScan IVUS Coronary Imaging System.
