Doctor of Dental Medicine program to be launched in Utah

The University of Southern Nevada (USN), a private, non-profit institution of higher education, announced today plans to expand its College of Dental Medicine by starting a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program at the university’s campus located at 10920 South River Front Parkway in South Jordan, Utah. The university expects to admit its first class in fall 2011.

Monsanto Company and Huazhong Agricultural University have entered into a collaboration to further the development of novel traits such as higher yield, drought resistance and nitrogen use efficiency. The notion that training teachers in the rigors of hands-on science will directly improve their students' academic performance now has real data behind it: Research assembled over the last decade - now published in the Oct. 16 issue of Science - shows that high school students' pass rate on New York State standardized tests, called Regents examinations, can be significantly improved if they are among the lucky few to study under a teacher trained in Columbia University's Summer Research Program for Science Teachers.
