Nymox near completion of new NX-1207 follow-up study for BPH

Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation announced today that the Company is nearing completion of a new multi-center U.S. long-term follow-up study of NX-1207, its investigational drug for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Nymox expects to report final results and statistical analysis for the study in the next 1-2 weeks. The new study concerns assessment of the 48-60 month efficacy and benefits of a single treatment of NX-1207.

Surgery more beneficial than drug therapy for benign prostatic hyperplasia

A 17-year-long community study looking at symptoms of enlarged prostate in over 2,000 men age 40 to 79 years suggests that surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) offers more relief from incontinence and obstruction symptoms than treatment from drug-based therapy, according to a new study by researchers at Mayo Clinic.

Nymox attributes increase in first-quarter net losses to higher clinical trial expenditures

Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation announced today its financial results for the first quarter of 2010. Nymox reported a net loss of $1,269,550, or $0.04 per share for the quarter ending March 31, 2010, compared to $1,004,259, or $0.03 per share for same period in 2009. Net losses include stock compensation charges of $195,220 in 2010 and $309,650 in 2009.

Update on Nymox Pharmaceutical's Phase 3 program for NX-1207

The most recent Safety Monitoring Committee meeting of April 30, 2010 for the Phase 3 U.S. pivotal trials of NX-1207 indicated no significant safety concerns for the trials to date.

Nymox Pharmaceutical announces new positive results from long term outcome study of NX-1207 for BPH

Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation today announced new 2010 positive results from a long term outcome study of NX-1207 for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The study evaluated symptomatic progress of U.S. patients involved in the Company's NX02-0012 and NX02-0013 Phase 1-2 studies of NX-1207 initially undertaken in 2003. Patients treated with NX-1207 were followed-up on an unselected and as available basis and assessed for symptomatic improvement, treatment outcomes, and durability of efficacy 6 ½ years after a single treatment with NX-1207.

Kissei to commercialize Protox's PRX302 PSA-activated pro-drug for BPH, prostate cancer in Japan

Protox Therapeutics Inc., a leader in the development of receptor targeted fusion proteins, today announced that it has entered into an exclusive US $75 million license agreement with Kissei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the development and commercialization of its PSA-activated pro-drug, PRX302, in Japan for BPH, prostate cancer and other diseases of the prostate. Protox retains exclusive rights to PRX302 in all other territories.

Realton closes Series B financing

Realton Corporation, a pioneer in developing diode-pumped laser systems initially targeted to treat enlarged prostate, today announced the closing of its Series B financing co-led by OrbiMed Advisors and China Healthcare Partnership. Mylan Inc. today announced that its subsidiary Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. received final approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its Abbreviated New Drug Application for Tamsulosin Hydrochloride Capsules USP, 0.4 mg, the generic version of Boehringer Ingelheim's benign prostatic hyperplasia treatment, Flomax.
