Neutralizing antibody serologic assay kits for SARS-CoV-2 and its variants

Accelerated progress towards vaccine efficacy detection

More and more people are getting vaccinated for safeguarding themselves against SARS-CoV-2; at the same time, the original wild-type virus has been mutating to achieve increased fitness that might help evade vaccine-induced immune surveillance.

In view of this “Red Queen”1 challenge, the extent of the strength of the present vaccine protection against the circulating and emerging variants of the virus is a major concern. Currently, the gap between what people have and what people need is closed by the successful development of neutralizing antibody titer kits developed particularly for three significant SARS-CoV-2 variants, namely B.1.1.7 (the UK variant), P.1 (Brazilian variant) and B.1.351 (South African variant).

Such kits are based on competitive ELISA assays to identify the existence of neutralizing or blocking antibodies in human serum that can particularly block the binding of mutated spike trimer or spike RBD protein to its human receptor ACE2. These kits feature verified high specificity and sensitivity and are easy to use under standard laboratory conditions. They can also be used to test several samples simultaneously.

This assay kit employs a standard sandwich-ELISA format, providing a rapid detection of SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein. The kit consists of pre-coated Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Spike Protein Antibody Microplate, SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein as Control, biotin-Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein antibody and HRP-Streptavidin.
