Sreetama Dutt

B.Tech. Biotechnology Engineering, M.Sc. Medical Microbiology

Sreetama Dutt has completed her B.Tech. in Biotechnology from SRM University in Chennai, India and holds an M.Sc. in Medical Microbiology from the University of Manchester, UK. Initially decided upon building her career in laboratory-based research, medical writing and communications happened to catch her when she least expected it. Of course, nothing is a coincidence.

Sreetama has always been passionate about writing. As a child she would always scribble in any random piece of paper she got, be it scrap paper, a notebook, or her grandfather’s brand new organizer, all she ever needed was a pen. And this somehow stayed with her for as long as she can remember.

Sreetama started freelancing right after completing her master’s degree. Mingling her passion for writing and her core subject matters seemed to be the best career path for her. As a part of her first assignment, she authored and co-authored multiple articles, news reports, press releases, and blogs for online news channels. The thought of connecting with people through her work and spreading the word on the latest in healthcare, pharmaceuticals and technology gave her immense joy.

For the past 7 years, there has been no looking back for Sreetama. From being employed in various start-ups, working on niche areas like ophthalmology and oncology, to working with entrepreneurs and innovators, independently, Sreetama has found herself authoring every form of document – be it abstracts, white papers, website content, articles, newsletters, and peer-reviewed publications. Sreetama has 5 peer-reviewed publications so far, in reputed journals, with more to come.

In her free time, Sreetama enjoys dancing, music, and reading. She loves to explore new places and meet new people. On a day off, you will find her exploring new cafés in the city, looking up the latest in fashion, or snuggling in a blanket with a book in hand.
