Aptuit announces strategic partnership Siena Biotech

Aptuit, Inc., and Siena Biotech S.p.A., today announced a strategic partnership in which Siena Biotech will take a minority stake in Aptuit's Italian operations in Verona, Italy, and Aptuit will become a provider of choice for Siena Biotech's development pipeline. Integra LifeSciences second-quarter GAAP net income increases to $15.2 million

Integra LifeSciences Holdings Corporation today reported its financial results for the second quarter ending June 30, 2010. Total revenues for the second quarter were $178.6 million, reflecting an increase of $12.9 million, or 8%, over the second quarter of 2009. U.S. Court of Appeals rules against Eli Lily's claims in Gemzar patent lawsuit

Sun Pharma today announced that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed the judgment of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan against Eli Lily and Co. finding certain claims of U.S. Patent No. 5,464,826 ("'826 patent") invalid. The appeal arose out of a lawsuit that Eli Lilly filed against Sun Pharma in connection with Sun Pharma's submission of an Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for a generic version of Gemzar®.

Two middle school students join scientists to research on key bacterial enzyme

Two middle school students from Wisconsin joined a team of scientists who are reporting the first glimpse of the innermost structure of a key bacterial enzyme. It helps activate certain antibiotics and anti-cancer agents so that those substances do their job. Their study appears in ACS' weekly journal Biochemistry.
