PHC announces second-quarter fiscal 2010 results

PHC, Inc., d/b/a Pioneer Behavioral Health, “Pioneer” or (the “Company”), a leading provider of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services, reported financial results for the Company's 2010 second fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2009. The results exclude the operations of the Company`s research division, Pivotal Research Centers, Inc. ("Pivotal"), which was sold during the 2009 third fiscal quarter and was accounted for as a discontinued operation.

Lack of provider status denies radiation oncologists authority to make decisions based on patient safety and treatment accuracy

Our members deeply regret the needless tragedies outlined in the Times articles and express our sympathy to the families who have lost loved ones and witnessed their suffering. Our hearts also go out to all others whose lives have been impacted by these tragedies including therapists, physicians and physicists. We feel that, as radiation oncology professionals, we are all, directly or indirectly, responsible for these disastrous treatment errors and we therefore must, in future, take a more active role to assure episodes like these are never repeated.

Microbial risk management is difficult and very important in food processing and although we have common EU legislation for food producers microbial risk management needs to be improved and harmonized within EU countries. Microbial risk management consists of several parts. Knowledge of hygienic design and factory layout can prevent severe microbial hazards.

Nurse files anonymous complaint with medical board against doctor: Jury hears evidence over misuse of complaint process

Today a jury in West Texas is hearing evidence that a nurse, acting in bad faith, tried to run a doctor out of town by filing an anonymous complaint with the Texas Medical Board. The case is Texas v. Mitchell, No. 5612 (Andrews County, Texas, presiding Judge Jim Rex).

Innocence Report calls for new approach to sex ed that respects sovereignty of family

"This report demonstrates the anti-religious, anti-parent, and anti-family bias of Planned Parenthood's approach to children," stated Emmett McGroarty, Director of Preserve Innocence, an initiative of the American Principles Project focused on protecting the innocence of children. Mr. McGroarty's comment referred to a new report from International Planned Parenthood Federation entitled Stand and Deliver: Sex, Health, and Young People in the 21st Century.
