    Until someone who actually understands insulin disease conducts a review, I'm going to keep using these devices to stay healthy.

    Hyperinsulinemia directly causes hypertension by stimulating IGF1A receptors in vascular smooth muscle.  Hypertension is a blood sugar disease.

    Prostate hypertrophy also insulin-driven.

    Autism is dose-response related to 1st trimester maternal blood sugar (even if gestational diabetes test is negative).

    Most cancer flourishes under high insulin.

    Inability to lose weight is insulin disease in most people.  (Because insulin blocks the ability to mobilize one's own fat stores.)

    If I see someone write a negative review paper on CGMs, who understands type 1 and type 2 pancreatic insulin release and how they change in insulin resistance, then I'll take it seriously.

      I'm LADA, technically T1D, still insulin producing and not on external insulin yet, but an OTC CGM is helpful in learning how my body responds to different foods before all my beta cells die off. Insurance won't cover a prescription CGM until I am prescribed insulin, and out-of-pocket is much more expensive than the OTC CGM's. I am right there with you, using it to stay healthy makes perfect sense.
