      It is even worse than that... hospitals in the US get paid 30,000 for every patient they hook up to a ventilator... doesn't matter if the patient dies 1 minute after they are hooked up they hospital automatically fills out the forms showing they hooked someone up and get 30,000 dollars.  This of course ignores the fact that ventilators have been shown to make things worse in covid patients, but the you make money when you do it so we have a very high instance of ventilated covid patients.
