My guess is the actual sample size on which the link between spanking and crime is based is very small making the findings questionable at best.
    Also, how was "spanking" defined? Did Straus differentiate between the types of physical punishment administered once to twice a week or just lump all forms of physical reprimand into the one category of "spanking"? (My guess is the latter). If he did differentiate, which he should have done to truly explore a link between the phenomenon, then our small sample size just became minuscule.
    Would love to see the full study to answer the above queries.
