PTSD is notoriously difficult to treat for a multitude of reasons, including a lack of mental health professionals trained to address trauma, a dearth of medications (there are only TWO medications approved by the FDA for PTSD) and social stigma. Even when using both talk therapy and prescriptions, most people suffer for decades, and that's a best case scenario.
