    Whole lot of good this does us in the U.S., where Metacam (meloxicam) has a "black box" warning for cats. Even if studies show it works, our hands are tied for fear of lawsuits. (For those unfamiliar, in 2010 the following warning was added to the label: "WARNING: Repeated use of meloxicam in cats has been associated with acute renal failure and death. Do not administer additional injectable or oral meloxicam to cats." who's still going to prescribe that? not me! At least not without VERY careful informed consent).
