  1. Anthony Schaus Anthony Schaus United States says:

I had dbs surgery in december2024 into 2025. Feb 4,2025 turned on the impulse generator and my left leg tremor was gone. Then we started to wean off Artane and I began to have issues with agility, speech and hand writing.  It is over a year later and I still have speech issues and my agility is still missing. Last year was the worst year I have had since being Dx with Parkinson's .  Im getting to the point where Im doubting that I will ever return to my pre surgery state.  Side note is I have turned the stimulation off for 4to5 days and the tremor has never returned which puzzles the neurologist and dbs programmer .  yes it is nice not having a tremor but not having agility and messed up speech an hand writing is not worth it to me.  The neurologist is confident that I will get back to where I want to be but I don't believe it.  I have the Medtronic adaptive unit with both R and L stn implanted
