    Suramin can cause kidney damage, the shock of this drug to the system cannot be excluded to these so called induced changes.  Once you get kidney damage there is no going back, and parents would have additional problems to deal with along with the expenses.  See: Goodman and Gilman's Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics, 6th edition (1980), page 1070-1071, the older texts are have less market bias.
