Parental age linked to children's risk for neuropsychiatric disorders

Results of a new study in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, published by Elsevier, reports that parental age is linked to the risk for the development of neuropsychiatric disorders in children, including autism spectrum disorder; attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder; obsessive-compulsive disorder; and Tourette's disorder/chronic tic disorder.

Early removal of some pancreatic cysts could decrease cancer risk, save lives

By analyzing medical records of 901 adults who had surgery for a certain type of precancerous pancreatic cyst, researchers at Johns Hopkins Medicine and The Karolinska Institute in Sweden have updated parameters for an anatomical “marker” that can tell more precisely if these cysts are likely to develop into lethal pancreatic cancers.
