OncoGenex provides update on Phase 3 ENSPIRIT trial evaluating custirsen for treatment of NSCLC

OncoGenex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today it has filed an amendment with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, as well as initiated filing with regulatory agencies in other countries, to amend the statistical design and analysis plan of its pivotal, international Phase 3 ENSPIRIT trial evaluating custirsen in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Diabetes drug liraglutide could prove to be a new treatment option for NASH

A drug approved to treat type 2 diabetes could prove to be a powerful new treatment option for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), according to research presented today at The International Liver Congress 2015. Results from a randomised controlled trial showed liraglutide met the primary endpoint of histological clearance of NASH, and a reduction in the progression of fibrosis.

Study supports use of vitamin E as effective treatment for NASH

Results revealed today at The International Liver Congress 2015 show that vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol) is an effective treatment for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). NASH occurs when the liver becomes inflamed due to the accumulation of fat. Over time, persistent inflammation can lead to the formation of fibrous scar tissue in the liver and around its blood vessels, which can eventually cause cirrhosis.

GFT505 demonstrates dose-dependent efficacy on primary endpoint in phase 2 NASH trial

GENFIT, today announces topline results of the phase 2 GOLDEN-505 trial in NASH. Due to the unexpected rate of resolution of NASH in patients randomized to placebo who had early NASH (NAS of 3, placebo response rate>57%), along with the high number of sites for a limited sample size, the study as initially designed did not enable the trial to meet directly the primary endpoint.

Denator partners with Maastricht University to develop sample stabilization approaches for clinical applications

Denator AB announced today that the company has entered into a 2-year collaboration with the Maastricht MultiModal Molecular Imaging Institute (M4I) of Maastricht University, the Netherlands.
