25.6 percent of U.S. adults obese in 2007

An estimated 25.6 percent of U.S. adults reported being obese in 2007 compared to 23.9 percent in 2005, an increase of 1.7 percent.

Fred Hutchinson awarded $7.6 million to research how genetic variations influence risk of common diseases

Researchers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center have received a $7.6 million, four-year grant from the National Human Genome Research Institute to better understand the genetic and biological roots of common diseases.
