ARIAD temporarily suspends commercial distribution of Iclusig drug in US

ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that it is temporarily suspending the marketing and commercial distribution of Iclusig® (ponatinib), a treatment for patients with resistant or intolerant chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and Philadelphia-chromosome positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL), in the United States, while it continues to negotiate updates to the U.S. prescribing information for Iclusig and implementation of a risk mitigation strategy.

New PARP inhibitor shows early responses in patients with advanced BRCA-related cancers

ARIAD discontinues Phase 3 EPIC trial of Iclusig in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia

Janssen seeks European marketing approval for combination of once-daily darunavir with cobicistat

Janssen-Cilag International NV, today announced it has submitted a Marketing Authorisation Application to the European Medicines Agency seeking approval for a once-daily single tablet fixed-dose antiretroviral combination product containing darunavir, a protease inhibitor developed by Janssen, with cobicistat, a pharmacokinetic enhancer or boosting agent, developed by Gilead Sciences, Inc. for use in combination with other human immunodeficiency virus medicines.

Janssen receives EC approval to use VELCADE as induction therapy in patients with multiple myeloma

Janssen-Cilag International NV announced today that the European Commission has approved the use of VELCADE (bortezomib) as induction therapy (a first therapeutic option) in combination with dexamethasone or thalidomide and dexamethasone. This licence extension will apply to adult patients with previously-untreated multiple myeloma who are eligible for high-dose chemotherapy with haematological stem cell transplantation.

GlaxoSmithKline receives CHMP positive opinion for REVOLADE
