High mobility group A genes are highly expressed in all aggressive cancers studied to date. These genes encode the high mobility group A (HMGA) proteins. In other words, these genes provide the genetic “code” necessary to produce HMGA proteins.

Bacillus-derived Hyaluronic acid from Novozymes Biopharma, Hyasis®, increases in vitro drug release time from under 10 minutes to approximately 15 hours

An investigation undertaken by Novozymes Biopharma DK has shown that when the corticosteroid dexamethasone is formulated in a cross-linked Hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogel, the drug’s in vitro release time increases from under 10 minutes to approximately 15 hours. In addition, the in vivo half-life of dexamethasone is shown to plateau with stable dexamethasone concentration up to four hours after injection.

Scientists in Granada, Spain, have patented a new biomaterial that facilitates generating bone tissue-artificial bones in other words-from umbilical cord stem cells . The material, consisting of an activated carbon cloth support for cells that differentiate giving rise to a product that can promote bone growth, has recently been presented at a press conference at the Biomedical Research Centre, Granada.
