KF scientists present recent cognitive research studies in MS at CMSC, ACTRIMS

Scientists at Kessler Foundation are presenting findings of recent cognitive research studies in multiple sclerosis at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, CA, May 30-June2, 2012. Drs. John DeLuca, Nancy Chiaravalloti and Yael Goverover are addressing the Fourth Cooperative Meeting of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) and the Americas Committee for Treatment and Research.

Data from Janssen’s SIMPONI Phase 3 study on ulcerative colitis

New study findings presented today show that subcutaneous induction regimens of the anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha therapy SIMPONI (golimumab) induced clinical response in a majority of patients with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (UC) who had previously failed or were intolerant to conventional agents.

Ipsen, Active Biotech complete half of planned recruitment in tasquinimod phase III study for CRPC

Active Biotech and Ipsen today announced that recruitment to the global, pivotal, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase III study of tasquinimod in patients with metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) has reached an inclusion of 600 patients, half of the planned accrual.

Oxytocin increases brain activations in children and adolescents with ASD

Preliminary results from an ongoing, large-scale study by Yale School of Medicine researchers shows that oxytocin - a naturally occurring substance produced in the brain and throughout the body- increased brain function in regions that are known to process social information in children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. today announced efficacy and safety results from a Phase II trial of urocortin 2 in 53 patients with acute decompensated heart failure. The UNICORN study was conducted over approximately a two year period by the Cardioendocrine Research Group from the University of Otago in Christchurch, New Zealand and included patients admitted to Christchurch Hospital with acute decompensated heart failure.
