FDA decides to review information on Avastin for advanced HER2-negative breast cancer

Research identifies intracellular mechanism for altering blood vessels permeability for tumours treatment

Dr. Jean-Philippe Gratton, Director of the Endothelial cell biology research unit at the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montr-al (IRCM), identifies a new intracellular mechanism responsible for modulating vascular permeability: the nitrosylation of beta-catenin protein by nitric oxide. This scientific breakthrough could have a possible impact on the treatment of cancerous tumours by altering the permeability of the blood vessels irrigating them. Dr. Gratton's team will publish the results of its research tomorrow in the scientific journal Molecular Cell.

AVEO achieves enrollment target for tivozanib global Phase 3 clinical trial in advanced renal cell carcinoma

AVEO Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing cancer therapeutics, today announced that it has achieved its enrollment target for TIVO-1, its global Phase 3 clinical trial for its oral, triple VEGF receptor inhibitor, tivozanib, in patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma. In February of this year, AVEO initiated enrollment in TIVO-1, and has successfully reached the target enrollment of 500 patients.

Genmab reports Arzerra net sales of DKK 73 million during second-quarter 2010

Genmab A/S announced today that the net sales for Arzerra® (ofatumumab) during the second quarter of 2010 were approximately DKK 73 million (approximately USD 12 million). Arzerra second quarter net sales in the U.S. and the rest of the world were approximately DKK 64 million (approximately USD 10.5 million) and approximately DKK 9 million (approximately USD 1.5 million) respectively.

Genentech disappointed with FDA ODAC's recommendation against Avastin

Preclinical results of TH-302 presented at AACR Translational Cancer Medicine Meeting
