BioSante vaccine increases median survival of resected pancreatic cancer patients

BioSante Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced publication of results from a Phase II clinical study that show BioSante's Pancreas Cancer Vaccine increased the median survival of resected pancreatic cancer patients from 15 to 20 months, as reported in published data, to 24.8 months, an increase of more than 25 percent.

Medtronic: Kyphon Balloon Kyphoplasty provides better back pain relief in cancer patients

Medtronic Inc., today announced the results of the first randomized, controlled trial comparing Kyphon Balloon Kyphoplasty with non-surgical care in treating spinal fractures in cancer patients. Scientists develop novel treatment strategy for multiple myeloma

Scientists at Virginia Commonwealth University Massey Cancer Center have developed a novel treatment strategy for multiple myeloma that pairs two targeted agents to kill cancer cells. The study's findings, published in today's edition of the journal "Blood," are the first to demonstrate the synergistic, anti-myeloma effects of this combination regimen both in vitro and in vivo.
