Mayo Clinic Platform announced today the launch of a new Clinical Decision Support (CDS) solution that brings Mayo Clinic knowledge and evidence-informed guidance directly into clinicians' workflows, helping them access trusted, relevant information when and where they are making patient care decisions. The artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled solution is available to Mayo Clinic clinicians and healthcare professionals at organizations participating in Mayo Clinic Platform's healthcare provider programs.
The CDS solution can be integrated directly within a growing number of electronic health record (EHR) environments to support individualized patient care decisions. The solution is informed by multiple clinical tools, reducing the need for clinicians to navigate multiple independent resources to find trusted clinical information.
Clinicians have access to a vast amount of medical knowledge, but finding relevant information for individualized patient care takes valuable time. With this new solution, we are bringing trusted Mayo Clinic knowledge directly into the clinical workflow so clinicians can spend less time searching for information across multiple resources and more time focused on patient care."
Maneesh Goyal, chief operating officer, Mayo Clinic Platform
The CDS solution is designed to evolve as more tools are added to the Mayo Clinic Platform experience. Beginning in November 2026, participating clinicians will have access to:
- A specialty-specific chat that can be integrated within EHR to provide guidance for individualized patient care. The tool covers more than 35 specialties and reflects Mayo Clinic's subspecialty model of care. Powered by a large language model, this chat surfaces relevant information to help clinicians reason through complex cases and cites responses from peer-reviewed literature. This tool is updated daily, giving clinicians access to relevant emerging evidence alongside established medical knowledge.
- Twenty-two clinical calculators, accessible via chat or voice dictation, that provide industry-standard medical information and evidence-based decision support on clinical questions and patient care context. Proprietary Mayo Clinic-developed calculators are included in this tool.
The CDS solution is designed to assist healthcare professionals as they make patient care decisions; it does not replace clinical judgment. Mayo Clinic physicians have provided feedback on the different tools to ensure the solution supports clinicians and reflects Mayo Clinic's approach to patient care."
