Agence France-Presse examines how Indian drug companies have infiltrated the South African market over the last few years in an effort to have a broader reach in Africa. India's pharmaceutical industry is now the second largest in the world by volume, according to AFP.

Technology to determine most effective chemotherapy treatment wins first prize in UC Davis Big Bang! competition

A technology that could allow cancer specialists to better determine the most effective chemotherapy treatment for a given patient won the $10,000 in first prize money in the 11th annual Big Bang! Business Plan Competition at the University of California, Davis. The contest is run by MBA students in the Graduate School of Management.

Saint Vincent Hospital to build new cancer center in downtown Worcester

Saint Vincent Hospital today announced it has signed a purchase and sale agreement with the CitySquare II Development Co. LLC , to build a medical office building that will house a new comprehensive cancer center in Worcester's CitySquare development. The new center, which represents a $21 million capital investment by Saint Vincent Hospital, is expected to open in January 2013.
