Bioheart group to advance BRIDGE TO RECOVERY clinical trial

Bioheart, Inc. announced today that at the American Heart Association Annual Meeting, it finalized the formation of a working group. The group's focus is to advance a BRIDGE TO RECOVERY clinical trial, combining a left ventricle assist device (LVAD) and Bioheart's MyoCell adult muscle stem cell composition and Bioheart's MyoCath needle tipped catheter delivery system.

Results from a large European study suggest that poorly educated people are more likely to be admitted to hospital with chronic heart failure than the better educated, even after differences in lifestyle have been taken into account. The study is published online today (Thursday 9 December) in the European Heart Journal.

Clinical data of pomalidomide for treating patients with multiple myeloma presented at ASH 2010

Celgene International Sàrl today announced that its next IMiD compound, pomalidomide, was evaluated in three separate investigational trials of patients with multiple myeloma who were relapsed or refractory after prior treatments including lenalidomide, thalidomide and bortezomib. The clinical data were presented at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology in Orlando, Florida.

ChipDX validates genetic signature for early-stage colon cancer

ChipDX LLC, a New York-based online molecular diagnostics and personalized medicine company, discovered and validated a genetic signature for early-stage colon cancer and is developing an online screening application to enable clinicians to more accurately identify risk of recurrence. In the study, published in the December issue of the British Journal of Cancer, ChipDX demonstrates how the 163-gene signature stratifies colon cancer patients into high- and low-risk groups for recurrence with greater accuracy than current methods.
