NCI awards 20/20 GeneSystems $3 million to develop tests for targeted cancer therapies

20/20 GeneSystems, Inc. announced today at the AdvaMed MedTech Conference in Washington, D.C. that the company has been awarded nearly $3 million in grants from the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Program to develop tests to help oncologists predict the effectiveness of targeted cancer therapies.

BCAN holds regional Bladder Cancer Patient Forum at New York Academy of Medicine

Bladder cancer is the fifth most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States, yet most people know nothing about it. MannKind begins MKC1106-MT Phase 2 trial for advanced melanoma

MannKind Corporation today announced the first patient has been dosed in a phase 2 clinical trial of the novel, investigational cancer vaccine MKC1106-MT. Jefferson researchers progress in understanding mechanism behind systemic fibrotic disorder

Scientists from the Jefferson Institute of Molecular Medicine of Thomas Jefferson University are now several steps closer to understanding the mechanism behind a novel systemic fibrotic disorder that affects some patients with renal insufficiency who receive imaging contrast agents for MRI. Long term exposure to air pollution increases risk of severe COPD

Long term exposure to low-level air pollution may increase the risk of severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), according to researcher s in Denmark. While acute exposure of several days to high level air pollution was known to be a risk factor for exacerbation in pre-existing COPD, until now there had been no studies linking long-term air pollution exposure to the development or progression of the disease.
