Human clinical trials of TissuGlu to commence in Germany

Cohera Medical, Inc. announced today that it has received approval to begin human clinical trials of its lead product TissuGlu® in Germany. Receipt of the approval allows Cohera Medical to proceed with patient recruitment and initiation of an investigational study of the company's novel internal surgical adhesive being developed for its first intended use to adhere surgical tissues together in large flap surgeries.

While delays in vaccine production have occurred, the department is placing orders as soon as vaccine is allocated to ensure it reaches Pennsylvania residents as quickly as possible.

Duodenal biopsy remains the gold standard for celiac disease (CD) diagnosis. However, it has several pitfalls and requires an invasive procedure in children. In the past few years, a more prominent role for a definitive diagnosis based solely on serology has been proposed. The predictive value of high levels of anti-tissue transglutaminase (tTG) antibodies has also been reported in retrospective CD cohorts.

John Muir Health earns Network Cancer Program accreditation

John Muir Health’s Walnut Creek and Concord campuses have earned a three-year accreditation with commendation as a Network Cancer Program (NCP) from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC), a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients. NIH awards $1.4 million Small Business Technology Transfer grant to BloodCenter of Wisconsin

BloodCenter of Wisconsin (BCW) today announced that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded a $1.4 million Small Business Technology Transfer grant to fund continued research into the deployment of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to enhance safety and reduce hospital costs related to the collection, manufacture and transfusion of blood products.
