SRU Biosystems awarded new U.S. patent

SRU Biosystems has announced that U.S. Patent 7,070,987 (the '987 patent), entitled "Guided mode resonant filter biosensor using a linear grating surface structure" was issued to SRU Biosystems, Inc. on July 4, 2006.

"The '987 patent represents the culmination of work begun nearly six years ago," stated SRU Biosystems' President & CEO Owen Dempsey, "and is an important element in SRU's growing portfolio of intellectual property. This portfolio encompasses all aspects of SRU's BIND system, which continues to set the standards in label-free detection."

SRU Biosystems, Inc., is a life science company developing novel technologies for rapidly analyzing the interactions of large genomic, protein, peptide, antibody or small molecule compound libraries against a wide range of biochemical targets. SRU is incorporating its technology into microtiter plates, microarray slides and other industry standard formats to create sensitive and high throughput tools that can be used to answer important biological questions for biomedical research, pharmaceutical drug discovery and diagnostics.
