Fun and creativity with Sick Day Survival Kit

Flu season officially begins this month, and many kids are already sneezing and coughing their way home from school early. While health officials can guide parents about how to care for their sick children, they cannot help with another pressing issue on most parents’ minds – “how am I going to entertain my sick child for an entire week at home?”

Every parent knows that the hardest time for a sick child is when he or she is recuperating from an illness and is still too ill for contact with other children, but is well enough to feel bored and frustrated. Officials at A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts, Inc., the company dedicated to bringing families together for fun and creativity, recommend that, in addition to stocking up on fever relievers, tissues and hand sanitizer, parents also plan ahead and build a Sick Day Survival Kit for each child in their family.

“A sick day does not have to be boring and it does not have to be filled with video games and television,” says David Abelman, A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer. “With a little planning, a sick day can be filled with creativity and learning through arts and crafts. We’ve made it easy for parents to be prepared for sick days with great project ideas and products that will make for an easier sick day for both the parents and their child.”

A.C. Moore has thousands of products and kits that are the perfect remedy for children’s sick days. Their Kids’ Craft & Activity area makes it easy for both parents and children to find the perfect arts & craft project. The company also offers project suggestions at their website http://www.acmoore.com/forum/yaf_topics57_Kids-Crafts.aspx. Facebook members can also view projects at www.facebook.com/acmoore.
