    The situation is nearly the same for the refugees from Burma who have been resettled in the Denver metro area of Colorado.

    Most of them were farmers in their homeland, and never received any formal education.  Here they have access to free English classes, but they are too far away to walk and the bus passes are more than they can afford on the cash assistance they receive.
