1. Gerry Bley Gerry Bley United States says:

How do you know that poor microbial population did not cause the kidney condition.  Also has anyone investigated fecal transplants as a way to cure poor microbial population which in turn could cure the kidney problem and perhaps other autoimmune disorders.   My mother-in-law had kidney failure and was on dialysis for several years. Toward the end of her life she had calciphylaxis.  I suspect that her poor gut microbial population was the source of her problems.  Her kidney probably turned to stone.  Her oldest daughter has many autoimmune disorders and recently has been diagnosed with calciphylaxis.  Her middle daughter's left kidney recemtly quit working.  Her youngest daughter has not yet had kidney problems. There is 7 years difference between each daughter. The youngest daughter is 58 years old.  The youngest daughter has autoimmune disorders like celiac, Afib, sores in mouth that only go away with steroid mouth wash.  The mother had 16 children, all from the same father.  13 boys and 3 girls.  The boys have not had as much problems but some do have some intestinal issues like irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis and  diverdiculitus.  We started to do a genetic testing program with this family, but so far, only 4 family members have given blood samples.  About 6 others have indicated a willingness to give blood samples.
