After I had my thyroid removed I was told it was a very small micro amount of cancer. Also that I probably could have lived out my life without any problems or knowledge of having cancer. It's has been six months since my surgery and I am just starting to feel ok. This has been very costly for me and will continue to be with co-pays, hormone replacement which is not covered and all the continual testing need for calcium and other blood levels.

I know some need the surgery but if it is micro small why not  monitor the nodule. I only wish I went to the Mayo Clinic for a second opinion. At Yale Hospital I was told that once found removal the entire thyroid was their policy.
