    Actually, the writer missed the key point, it is not that the eccentric movement builds stronger muscle, it is the fact the most people do not execute the movements correctly. They lower the dumb bell by letting it drop, stepping down stairs by let the foot drop without resistance, etc. rather than maximizing the resistance in both up and down movements. The write’s statement is misleading.
