Such types of research and guidance articles written for hospitals are important to improving the quality and cost-effectiveness of health care and its delivery. That said, significantly more effort is needed to minimize the potential for bias and to ensure that these types of articles are monitored and fully disclose the potential for conflicts of interest that may arise during their researching and writing, especially if the reports and guidance articles are written by agencies or organizations that have close ties and "work" with medical device manufacturers.
