    To date, most of the studies seem to indicate that our former conclusions regarding what was known as Shaken Baby Syndrome have been scientifically proven to be wrong, from the diffuse axonal injury, to the cerebral edema, and more recently, the bridging vein hypothesis, and perhaps even retinal hemorrhages.  It is certainly wonderful news that there will be some clear science to support this diagnosis which has led to so many past convictions of innocent caregivers.
