1. Richard F. Bernal Richard F. Bernal United States says:

Altus Hospice was the worst facility I have ever been in.  In April 2010, they allegedly conspired to kick my Mother out, blaming my beligerent behaviour as a danger to the staff.  (My beligerent behaviour consisted of reading the Bible in my Mother's room.)  They simply wanted us out after nearly 6 weeks.  We went to Hospice Atlanta where my Mother died 4 days later, missing her birthday by 2 days.  I have no doubt the stress caused by the move from Altus expedited her death, if even by a few days.  The policeman who escorted me out of Altus told me to "Go after them."  The last thing the recording nurse at Hospice Atlanta, who had previously worked at Altus, told me, was "Go after them."  Hopefully Halycon is better, but unless they did a complete staff change for everyone RN and above, I doubt there's any improvement. Hospice Atlanta was kind, compassionate, and all the difference in the world.  I'm so sorry I did not take my beloved Mother there in the beginning.
