In my experience in mental health, females are diagnosed with BPD or EUPD rather than ASD/ADHD. Females are also more likely to be diagnosed with EUPD or BPD than males.
In mental health BPD stands for borderline personality disorders NOT bipolar disorder (BD).
BPD is also known as EUPD (emotionally unstable personality disorder). There is also frequently a misdiagnosis of BD instead of EUPD and DPD due to misunderstandings of the symptoms, which can seem similar to the inexperienced.

I have seen this myself. All of the testing and guidelines are set for how males represent so, of course females will slip through the cracks as they present differently. I have heard Drs state that females can not have ASD or ADHD because they don't fit the mold. There is only one mold, the male dx and women are diagnosed with BPD/EUPD instead because society expects females to socialize in a different and more involved way that we expect males to so any deviation must be a neuroses.  This is very frustrating when you see middle aged women who could have been accommodated and assisted who had Zero help and an improper dx. The Medical and Psychology fields need to swiftly and decisively address this.

As a female who wasn't diagnosed adhd until my early 30s, I agree. I'm now 43. I have 3 kids, 2 girls, 1 boy. All on the spectrum. All adhd. All generalized anxiety. (then they have other issues individually such as rapid cycle bipolar).

There's no doubt in my mind from living this and watching my children over the years that symptoms present differently in the sexes. I'm not an expert but I am a mom haha! I'm just thankful I had the insight to know something wasn't right and get help for each of us.
