I have a sister with severe Autism and this article is exactly right. There is little information on female's with Autism. But we have to also have to look at the other side of it. There is so little research on Autism I mean really? In America, 1 in about 79 ( I may be wrong here, not from America) people have autism. But in America, 1 in 300 people have Leukemia and they get 5 times more donations then Autism organisations. Like I know Leukemia is bad but really? Five times more!?!

But the reason I'm talking about American statistics is because they are the only guys who do statistics for Autism (England following closely behind in this example) but that's it!

I am a 16 yr old girl for crying out loud and I can see there is a problem here. There are five organisations for Autism in Australia and they raise money (apparently) but we NEVER see that money. They say the money goes to raising awareness about Autism, that's just a load of rubbish!

Where is this awareness? On one of the Australian Autism organisation websites they have a ' Walk for Autism day' for obviously Autism. When I read this, I had NEVER heard of it, so I asked my parents and WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT ! The same answer.

People don't care about Autism because so long as it's not them, they don't give a damn. People grow more selfish and more self absorbed the more this world goes round.

I have seen people bully people of all disabilities. E.g. Autism, downs Syndrome , you name it. And people bully them. Like really? Our job as a society is to PROTECT the weak, not BULLY the weak to make yourself feel better or to fit into the popular group. Even teachers bully kids with disabilities as I have learnt from my sisters own experience.

I have protected kids with disabilities and such including my own none-verbal sister.

If I had to be like that to be in the popular group then good riddance I'm not!
