Automated vs manual dosing of liquids for samples in cell culturing using the mp6 micropump

There are many reasons why lab automation is a crucial step to allow for efficient high-throughput screenings. The main ones being time and amount of manual labor. We wanted to present a possible solution for the semi-automated filling of wellplates for sample preparation, e.g. for cell culturing purposes. We are comparing the use of a pipette which requires a lot of manual labor and the dispensing unit featuring our mp6 micropump.

The benefits at a glance:

  • Automated process allows for more efficient use of manual labor
  • Dispensing unit works faster and is less prone to error
  • More than one liquid can be dispensed at the same time
