A crucial element of formulation development is knowing about viscosity and rheology, especially when high-concentration biologics for subcutaneous application, their syringeability and manufacturability are relevant. Classic viscometers need large sample volumes and read one sample at a time, and even chip-based instrumentation just automates sample loading and requires extensive washing between samples. 

Honeybun addresses all these bottlenecks. The viscometer and rheometer determines viscosities up to 150 cP, reads 10 samples in 1 minute and sweeps shear rates for rheology info. Sample volumes can be as low as 15 microliters, the temperature range is 4–45 °C and Honeybun needs no extensive prep, cleaning or aftercare. Andre is a Director of Product Management and responsible for Honeybun & Aunty at Unchained Labs. His expertise is in biophysical characterization of proteins and viral vectors. His research experience spans from structural biology to plant physiology and across labs in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and the USA.  Andre earned his PhD at the Carlsberg Laboratory and had a post-doc appointment at Stanford University.
