The latest large new study published in February 2020 in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine reveals that eating red and processed meat is associated with a small but significantly higher risk of heart disease and death. Says researcher Norrina Allen, “It's a small difference, but it's worth trying to reduce red meat and processed meat like pepperoni, bologna and deli meats.”
