Doctors perform investigational procedure on six patients using ADRCs to treat heart failure

Doctors at the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital announced that they have performed an investigational procedure on six patients in a new FDA-approved clinical trial to evaluate therapy that uses regenerative cells derived from a patient's own adipose (body fat) tissue to treat a severe form of heart failure.

Devices snaked into the brain artery of a patient experiencing a stroke that either snatch and remove the offending clot or pump a dissolving drug into the blockage should primarily be used within a clinical trial setting, say a team of vascular neurologists at Mayo Clinic in Florida.

Cedars-Sinai team awarded grant to study cardiac stem cell treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy

Newport Beach-based nonprofit Coalition Duchenne has awarded a $150,000 grant to a Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute team investigating whether an experimental cardiac stem cell treatment could be used to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy patients who have developed heart disease.
