TissueFab® bioink - crosslinking solution

TissueFab® - crosslinking solution is a crosslinking agent for chemical crosslinking of bioinks containing alginate.

The solution contains 200 mM of calcium chloride. Alginate, sourced from brown seaweed, is a naturally occurring anionic polymer. It has found widespread use in bioink formulations owing to its biocompatibility, structural similarity to the extracellular matrix in living tissues, and ability to facilitate moderate gelation.

The sodium salt of alginic acid can be crosslinked by exposing it to a crosslinker solution containing divalent Ca2+ cation.
