CryoLife begins enrollment in BioFoam Surgical Matrix IDE clinical trial

HMS, EPFL to collaborate on 6 pioneering neuroengineering projects

Physical abnormality in airway linked with autism

Autism and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) are currently diagnosed primarily through subjective observation of autistic behaviors. However, new research, presented at CHEST 2011, the 77th annual meeting of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), suggests that a physical abnormality in the airway may be a prominent indicator for autism and autistic spectrum disorders, making it a possible diagnostic marker for this disease.

Journal of the American Dietetic Association publishes new eye-tracking study

Nutrition Facts labels have been used for decades on many food products. Are these labels read in detail by consumers when making purchases? Do people read only certain portions of the labels? According to a new study published in the November issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, consumers' self-reported viewing of Nutrition Facts label components was higher than objectively measured viewing using an eye-tracking device.

Femtosecond laser cataract surgery safe and effective than standard procedure
